. So here we are In Katmandu In warm rooms with portraits Mutely covering the walls Dinner is eaten Off the white plate The wine in its crystal glass With a certain aplomb Having read of Iran And monks shot down in Burma Carlos Drummond de Andrade Who saw so much as pointless pursuit And yet who will wait tonight Patiently on the balcony For an autumn moon For whomever emerges From those still silent secret Forgotten recesses of the heart To sing to her In its light . |

Sorry, John...somehow I almost missed reading this one...most glad I just found it! [For whatever my humble opinion is worth, of the authors I find 'most worth reading' that traverse the fine blue sands of 'P.I.P.-land'...you often fall near the top of my queue or 'poetic pantheon'] VERY fine 'write'!! serious applause!! |

I could feel I was there too, in Katmandu. This, in my humble opinion, is one of your very best! - Owl |
