Words line the mind from left to right
and I read without true sight
the thoughts and messages, intent
laid on a platter it would seem
in front of the denied.

Perhaps it’s real but then too deep
the buried treasure lies
and no ferreting or desperate need
can dig and sift and hold within
the reason and the meaning.

Suffice to say love shivers so
and rises from a deadly void
to smile, to sigh, and to cry
in blessed welcome of
a dream at last come true.

But such the way of many dreams;
they come and then they go
and life remains to sink me back
into that dark and deadly void
where even reptiles fear to go.

Suffice to say love shivers so!
