Once they were passionate lovers With the world at their feet. They dreamed it would last forever, Life and love were sweet. But with time the flame of love burned low, A lingering spark they came to know, That on occasion would burn higher But never with that first Love's fire. Now, the lovers have grown old And the burning flame of desire is cold But not without the brilliant glow That only seasoned love may know. The old man's steps are slow but steady His trembling hands are ever ready To tend his lady while he may Before she quietly slips away. They share so many entwined emotions, Memories, loyalty and devotion. They've journeyed far since that first kiss. To learn what true love really is. Ida Werrett |

True love ... yes. Emotions may be different, but the connection becomes so deep and always more precious while the years go by. And besides that single relationship ... LOVE IS! A very beautiful tribute to true love! Love, Margherita |

Ms Ida They share so many entwined emotions, Memories, loyalty and devotion. They've journeyed far since that first kiss. To learn what true love really is. How wonderfully put, if only we could see it for what it is |

I enjoyed this. Reminds me of my parents. True love never dies. "late" [This message has been edited by latearrival (09-24-2007 02:27 AM).] |

Thank you Late, I wrote this poem about a rather famous painting of an old man pushing his wife in a wheelchair. Ida |

"Now, the lovers have grown old And the burning flame of desire is cold But not without the brilliant glow That only seasoned love may know." Ida, that is so serenely, and touchingly beautiful. May we all experience such seasoned love. To love, loving, and being loved in return, Linda |

Wonderful...although I don't believe that desire gets cold as much as new desires grow warmer...James |
