Beyond Tomorrow Thoughts drift through my mind, as waves upon a mile-wide sandy shore. They remind me of another time when we walked that same shore together, hand in hand, laughing though you alone knew how short the time we would steal to be together. In your gentle wisdom, you said to me: "When you feel the essence of life wanting to leave you; When your losses, like the coming of winter seem to chill you to the bone, stretch your mind beyond tomorrow, and you will taste the warmth of my love: let it comfort you, surround you like this shore surrounds the sea." ____________________ "Like a shore, love encompasses all: the tiny pool, the mighty ocean." |

grand and wise (as always)! [it is always such a pleasure to read anything from this fine author!] Unfortunately, one part of this marvelous poem really 'hits home' (kinda' "defines" the point I have reached in 'life'): "When you feel the essence of life wanting to leave you; When your losses, like the coming of winter seem to chill you to the bone..." sustained applause! |
