Stay Good It would seem the fates have it all figured out Stay good must be written in my stars It doesn't matter how bad I may think I am Someone always comes along and says, stay good. No matter how big the mess is messed How much times speeds up with no time to rest I remain the stay good guest Allowed to play through on my quest. When I bring back the stories of my daring do From the fringes and beyond the galactic wall It doesn't matter how long I'm away in my head The freshness of my sweep keeps them knee deep. No matter how the shifting sands shift How far my fragile litte spaceship might drift I remain the stay good quest who doesn't quit With the landing on her feet catlike gift. Tomorrow pushes the crowd further into their chairs Living vicariously through my time warp escapades What I find easy seems to always evade them But luckily singularity has a companion called brave. No matter how below the radar always flying high Right in front of their in the box, dreamy eyes Of no consequence unless I make them laugh or cry Stay good helps them believe there is truth in lies. Yep...just that. Does the person feel better for all of the deceit? The poem, in a way, reminds me of the little character, Pasqual, in "Rose is Rose". He dreams himself into all sorts of daring-do...but at his young age, it is all innocent. Your poet name, "sweetbomb" hints at the type of games that can be played. I think there are times that we all veer toward the edge of safe, and look over into the chasm of disaster. I can identify with your poem, for several reasons, none of which I will go into here. Just... please, be careful, ok? I've enjoyed your writings, and I want to read more. |

Thank you. I like pushing the edge of the envelope. Careful? I ride horses. I am careful and at the same time quite up for the adventure. My young mare is the same way. A match made out beyond that fringe, eh? D |
