(Here's a new song I wrote, celebrating and ushering in the Year of the Pig today! ![]() I was born in the Year of the Water Pig (1983) which may explain how deeply shy and sensitive I can be in general (also a Triple Water Sign in western astrology, LOL!), while also always optimistic and want to see the best in the world. This is the Year of the Fire Pig, which, because fire and water are conflicting elements, astrologers are predicting there may be more disharmony in the world this year, but also, as the Chinese say, crisis has two meanings, with opportunity also arising out of crisis, thus fortune and new possibilities will also be abundant this year. Happy year of the Pig, y'all, yay! ![]() * Year of the Pig By: Noah Eaton 2/17/07 I want to keep playing the good knight or fairy, want to hold all the trust in the gods I can carry, want to wear rose-colored glasses, when I look ahead or reminisce, I want to be a healer and a hearer, I want to smile honestly at myself in the mirror, want to see the best of everything, be convinced there’s a place for the chivalrous… . . . Measuring the days by oranges and tangerines, the reawakening of nature in golden means, gliding the new moon like a pinwheel, for fifteen days and nights, the familiar perfumes surrounding the stove, the plum blossoms flowering in the grove, children’s faces painted in red melon seed, exhibiting the colors of their joy… And I want to feel entranced by happy chance, tremble where the dragons and lions dance, want to reach up, and touch the star of longevity, and feel intimately connected with superstition, just so I can feel reconditioned, want to hear the lanterns humming, in the Year of the Pig… . . . Palms ensconced over the tray of togetherness, I share the evergreen pine’s steadiness, the spirits of fortune raise their regal heads, as roman candles ignite across the sky, rehearsing and serving this vibrant dream, with a musical theme like a tidewater stream, seeming to add to its color scheme, in only a blink of a eye… And I want to feel entranced by happy chance, tremble where the dragons and lions dance, want to reach up, and touch the star of longevity, and feel intimately connected with superstition, just so I can feel reconditioned, want to hear the lanterns humming, in the Year of the Pig… Suddenly I feel my sense of direction… . . …at the summit of my inflection… . . at this moment there’s projection, of all my affection, as the full moon ascends over me… …over me… . . . And I want to feel entranced by happy chance, tremble where the dragons and lions dance, want to reach up, and touch the star of longevity, and feel intimately connected with superstition, just so I can feel reconditioned, want to hear the lanterns humming, in the Year of the Pig. I want to hear the lanterns humming… hear the lanterns humming… hear the lanterns humming… hear the lanterns humming… hear the lanterns humming… . . . . .
