God of the Sea
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Within the calm of a tranquil sea,
There ruled a benevolent force.
All in the kingdom ~ both great and small,
Flourished in the light of this source.

He lived on the floor of the ocean,
In a palace of crystal and corals.
~ Surrounded by sea vegetation,
And the music of mermaiden chorals.

The vista of towering seashells,
Was pleasing to the sea god’s eyes.
They were home to all of his subjects
In this glorious sea paradise.

The dolphins swam freely with whales.
Among sharks, the fishes would play.
They all lived in harmony together,
As friends of each other ~ not prey.

For eons he ruled this dominion
With Trident, he protected his realm.
Sailors were granted safe passage,
If they stayed a true course at the helm.

Whenever his kingdom was threatened,
He churned waters into turbulent seas.
Tall waves crashed ships into shorelines,
Hapless sailors were felled to their knees.

Within the calm of a tranquil sea,
There dwelled a benevolent force.
All in the kingdom ~ both great and small,
Flourished in the light of this source.

He lived on the floor of the ocean,
In a palace of crystal and corals.
~ Surrounded by sea vegetation,
And the music of mermaiden chorals.

“We are borne of star dust,
and to the stars we shall one day return.”
~ Linda L. Dowd

I come to read you,
because I will know of beauty
and the heavens,
the earth
and the sea...
and sometimes, of angels.

I just come

to read, and enjoy.

I often detect a hint of mischief in your responses.

Hmmm! If Paul Wilson is king of the sea (check out his adorable poetic response), and I (according to you) am the queen of the sea, then Paul and I must be a divine sea couple! lol

As always, it was good to hear from you!

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, this is one of my favorites yet of yours, dearest friend, as with having a natal chart 76% filled with water, LOL, I'm certainly often wading in oceans of imagination and aesthetic thought and just daydream of the ocean all the time, mermaids and infinite coral reefs and dolphins being my favorite things to dream about, yay! (does happy samba scuba-dive) Bless you, dearest friend, this is a gorgeous feast to the eyes, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
