A winter path Over snow Between two hills On whose slopes Slender birches With upraised limbs As if they were despaired A crimson tint On the horizon line Above the sky A clouded blue It doesn’t matter Where you go One hears No bird song in the air Only the sounds Of stoic plodding on Branches creaking In the cold . |
