 My Ivory Tower ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ I live in an ivory tower, With the perfect ocean view. It’s perched atop a rocky cliff, Facing calm seas of blue. Seagulls sail the thermals, In the clear cerulean skies. Their soulful cries bring memories, Of times before our goodbyes. Oh, how we would hunger, For our passion's daily fill. ~ Making slow love by the seaside, Or behind the old wood mill. Joined in flesh and spirit, Our blood flowed hot and free. ~ Living high in our castle Where reigned just you and me. We had no need for answers, No questions had we to ask. We had not a care in the world, As we’d lie in warm sun and bask. I miss our years together, But change is a part of life. I still recall fond memories, Of having been your wife. I live in an ivory tower, With the perfect ocean view. It’s perched atop a rocky cliff, Facing calm seas of blue. Love is the unifying force which integrates one’s soul with that of another. ~ Linda L. Dowd |

iliana ~ Good evening, lily jo! Yes, the life changes that occured after my marriage ended, would not have happened if my life had not played out as it has. I live in an Ivory Tower (Contentment of mind with understanding gained by life's experiences) With a perfect ocean view Foresight into your own destiny born out of the primeval feelings of the sea from which mankind evolved. It is perched atop a rocky cliff What your soul has experienced in life to take your pathway to your current understanding, with the knowledge that it just may tumble(perched), but you are at the stage where you can cope proved by your final line: Facing calm seas of blue. Not just the story written by the words, but the flowing out of inner peace, ethereal understanding and peace within yourself. Namaste, Ivor |

Linda....I feel sadness in this, yet it is the beautiful kind, if that makes any sense...perhaps there really are no places like that castle that keep forever except within the soul. |
