This was written quite a few years ago when I was going through a very bad period following the death of our daughter. Though Joan had exactly the same to deal with as me, this was written as a tribute to how she supported me through this and through the rest of my life. Joan Joan now says that she could panic, but she must stay right on track. Says it’s her turn for a breakdown but no time to think like that. Yet again she bears my burden working hours both day and night. Making sure whatever happens we’re prepared to stand and fight. Though Joan’s only five foot nothing, no bigger girl I’ve ever seen. Shoulders all life can throw at her, most would break where she has been. She’s the one who’s strong and able, always had to carry on. As a wife and loving mother, woman’s work is never done. Now you know why I don’t worry when my backs against a wall. With the love of my good woman always there to break my fall. So when I write about my feelings please remember how I stand. Leaning on my children’s mother, together always hand in hand. Ivor G Davies The moment created this second, is a moment that's going to last. It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past. |
