Drink

Subtle forces wane
Of the sucking heat
Cotton mouthed July

Berries puckered drain
Wishing cool repeat
Bluest skies belie

Rasp of honor stain
Forlorn flora mete
Air in distant sigh

Praying for the rain
Limbs upturned to greet
Full-cheeked clouds deny

Thundering with pain
Poured in dark deceit
When the heavens cry

Swelled applause again
Broad and spectral feat
Supple vines reply

"Thundering with pain

When the heavens cry"

Great write TD.

I am especially fond of:

"Thundering with pain
Poured in dark deceit
When the heavens cry...

Broad and spectral feat
Supple vines reply (!)"

This write captures 'Dog-day'
summertime rather well!
