Id love to switch or skin, it would be win-win. Id see why you tear me down and you could see how i love you so much. And just maybe then, we could find an end to all the differences we make, "in love" is what we figured it would be. We couldve been wrong, yea all along Couldve seen seen it coming had it not been for the lust blinding our way. So take off your skin, and ill take off mine in.. just one second, i want to get a look at whats on the inside. See if its black...say what is that?! Theres an empty spot where you heart is supposed to be. Explains a lot. Defeats what i brought, a heart i was willing to share with you until the end. Guess i rushed in, tried too quick to begin A relationship started between the sheets of an over-dressed bed. Cuz your emptiness caused "petty" to be tremendous. Breaking me down for little nothings i did to show you my love. Way to go me! Shouldnt have unlocked my needs. now theyre spilled all over the floor slipping between the cracks. So you know what? Zip you skin back up now i know what i needed to know so i can go my own way. It hurt just a little, i think i felt a tear trickle but i think it was a relief tear feeling my release from you. Well thats a load off, no more paying the cost of putting me out there just for you to keep tearing me down. You gripped me with the message and your originality in presenting it. I am a punctuation type of person, so that distracted me a bit - as did the spelling of words like "cuz". However, after I got over those things, I was fascinated by your poem. And I really, really liked this line: A relationship started between the sheets of an over-dressed bed. Alison |
