in the studio
on Main and Charleston
he holds court
astride a stool
elegance and paint staining soft brown fingers

hat over his right eye sounds like Mingus
smells like cigarette smoke
just cleaned brushes
tip up in a jar

black linen dresses wander among
his Cuernavaca angels
circling the room
Pollock haunting the walls

fresh cheese
blowsy red tomatoes
fruit
wine glasses in thin diamond fingers

hunger sits on the air

with one eye
I adore skin of his neck
where last my lips touched down

the side of his smirk whispers
real art begins
when these strangers wander into the night

then I paint Chagall crazy
and you sing Dinah

in love

Oh, but you do have a way with painting
a mood or moment.  Good one...made me
hungry.

And I am hungry too ...

Dear Lady, this penning gave the mood, one so enjoyed. I liked this line, it spoke of passion and remembrance. Well done my friend.
