City people come in varying degrees of educated ignorance. In some cities, they are cowed by their religions and governments: they walk hunched over, drab grey, silent, women covered head to toe. In others - mine, for example? They try to outdo themselves in ardent acts of displayed stupidity - whether pedestrians or drivers: seems to me they’re all auditioning for some bit part in a beer commercial: they yell insults at one-another, sometimes arguing and fighting. Vehicles are equipped with the latest noise-making gadgetry and failing that, the 50's mindset takes over and tires squeal - and tires burn: stupid is as stupid does. And where do these bad actors learn their anti-social behaviour? From TV of course – but the best performance was learned and earned at the local high school. Now don’t get me started on the subject of cost for all this “educated ignorance”! |

"educated ignorance"... and: "...ardent acts of (raging) stupidity..." RIGHT ON!! Sadly, cities just tend to 'focus and amplify' the "defining characteristics" of the "Runaway American Dream" [with greed, materialism and myopic 'self-focus' added to 'spice' the mix!] fine and accurate 'write'! |

"They try to outdo themselves in ardent acts of displayed stupidity" sadly, that just about sums up the look of modern Americana...not exactly an admirable face |

Like the tv part...wonderful propaganda...especially the news... I was discussing with a friend why some are liberals and some conservatives and concluded that it is partially due to the steady flow of information that our parents feed into our thoughts while we are young and impressionable...my friend said that he believed that most liberals are unbelievers, believing the government to be their God and provider, and most conservatives tend to be believers in God and promote that agenda...therefore they tend to be pro-life, believe in prayers in the school and so forth...not so much education but lessons and experiences from childhood make us who we are...perhaps...James |
