Poets and Preachers Poets and preachers are often the same Sprouting out words in profusion Sometimes I wonder what is their game A lottery of utter confusion Both think they are right To steal your time One in Gods name The other in rhyme Poets and preachers are often the same Both are a terrible bore Then when you get older who can you blame Repeats of what you heard before Both think they are right To whinge and to whine One’s seen the light The other might not always actually be a poet at all |

Would you like yourself to be known as a poet or a writer? Well, writer too fits into the categorie of poets' amazing characteristics which you've mentioned. Just wondering. |

Poets and preachers are from the same mould Bleeding out words from their heart Believing by saying how they play the game some comfort they both may impart. Both know they're not right For most of the time One leans on God The other on rhyme But poets and preachers are ALWAYS the same Both say that they both get it wrong For as you get older who can you blame It's YOU puts YOUR words to life's Song So don't blame the teller for stories you've heard If you take HIS pathway of life Don't whinge and whine at the one who appeared It's you chose YOUR pathway to strife. If you're not a preacher or poet my friend or cannot make words into rhymes Look deep within, for the one who's to blame, and why life is boring at times! |
