Simple Celebration

Drops of water wash over my skin
Cleansing me like baptismal rain
From the purity of clouds above and I
Embrace the gift of the moment

The scent of wild raspberries mingles
With fragrant Alder leaves and fiddle ferns
Melding to create nature’s perfume
Briefly captured in the breeze

Dancing among dwarf dewberry flowers
Blades of grass brush my legs
Flirtatious with each damp caress
Waving gently and continuously

To not celebrate the natural world
To not see, smell or dance
With nature’s beautiful bounty
Is simply a tragedy

Dear Alison, I so enjoyed these lines my friend.

To not celebrate the natural world
To not see, smell or dance
With nature’s beautiful bounty
Is simply a tragedy

How true a statement, how wonderful a post.

Beautiful. I especially liked "Flirtations with each damp caress", just a perfect line.

A most fine Nature 'write'!

I especially LOVE the following imagery:

“I Embrace the gift of the moment…..

The scent of wild raspberries mingles
With fragrant Alder leaves and fiddle ferns….

creat(ing) nature’s perfume
Briefly captured in the breeze…”

sustained applause!!
