Slugs

Those specious slugs of politics
   so baffled and confused
   are breathing innuendo
as they waffle in their ooze

They feed on form in gaseous states
   and leave a slimy trail
all the way to their convention
where one becomes the favored snail

And every said secretion
that they slobber on the stump
is a sickly form of saccharine
they use to slither o’er the hump

And as they slather up the polls
that they hope to use as vaults
I’m left with just one question –
Will someone please pass me the salt?

Wonderfully creative expression.  Enjoyed the way you articulate this wide held belief.

Its probably cruel of me but sometimes its fun to sit on the patio and take pot-shots at easy targets.
