(an oldie from years ago)

Forgiveness may not have come
in time, like I thought it had,
I still feel pain when you touch,
I cry again, and I'm still sad.

I've tried to muster the energy
to start this love brand new,
but really, nothing's changed
and there's nothing you can do.

It's a shame to know someone
so many years and not be friends,
battle scars caused by open wounds
that forgiveness cannot cleanse.

Perhaps a Forgiveness Salve made with some lavender would heal those wounds.

Hugs to you, Ms Dixie,

A beautiful poem Dixie and one I so enjoyed, isn't it great to have some oldies to fall back on and share, we should all do this from time to time. Have a great day.

this is a very sad, emotional piece of writing that holds the truth within its words.

Then and now, you express yourself so clearly in the emotions of your art.  So many can relate to the hopelessness of a dying love.  How wonderful to reach the other side of the chasm left in a human heart.  Well done Dixie.

Hi Dixie...I hope you are well.  Forgiveness is such a miracle really, if one can muster it.  It takes much strength.
