I Don’t Mind I do not mind the look of age But mind the calibration stage The wearing down of faculties The loss of practicalities I can no longer swiftly turn Nor store the things that I would learn And when I wend I often moan And when I bend I always groan The music comes in duller tones Through lesser skull and muted bones And though the skin is paper thin I cannot warm the lean within I agile over lesser rings And addle o’er confessor things And morbid plays each breath I breathe And absence stays my hand to sheathe Yet Angles strum upon my chest To stay the heartbeat drums my breast |

Mornin', T-Man ~ I ingest enough vitamins, minerals, enzymes and herbs on a daily basis, to turn Methusela into a nubile nymph!  I'm fighting aging every step of the way! Seymour, I've found on this sight a brilliant rhyming poet of the caliber I seldom see, your picture led me to believe you were slightly older than me (a mere 61), but I might of known, and should not be surprised with your expertise that you are a little more than slightly older. Your underlying sense of humour and wit in all you write reminds me of an Uncle I had who, though not a writer, had one of the keenest brains I have known. This is yet another example of your excellent rhyming poetry and it is an honour to read you sir, Ivor |

RDB Now how could I be a veteran of WW2 if I was only 65. LOL my Son is going on 65 But I am pleased you think me so young. I believe it was Art Linkletter that wrote a book titled, "Old Age is Not For Sissys" or something like that... I suspect those that don't mind, or accept it will have an easier time with it... each day of our life brings us a little closer to angels and eternity...James |
