Writing in rhyme is so divine but let me write in free verse too. Life is so full of restrictions why self restrain all that we do? So many styles to be written. I like reading a Terzanelle, or perhaps, maybe a Sonnet; harshness of life through words I quell. At times, I'm often amazed by the simplicity of Haiku. Alluring alliterations softly spellbinding Senryu's. I love all types of poetry but in the end? I write for me. No more hangin' on to the past No more filling up my tomorrows With yesterday's sorrows No more lookin' over my shoulder {T. Tritt} |

absolutely EXCELLENT 'write'! I especially LOVE: "harshness of life through words I quell." and: "I love all types of poetry but in the end? I write for me." I would only add: that we also 'write'...simply because we must! long-sustained applause!! |

You go girl!! Love your writing, any way you decide!! JL What I used to do with one hand tied behind my back now requires every muscle in my body, cohesively. |

Delightful poetry, Gentle Spirits! I agree with you. I like free verse as much as those with registered form. To me, poetry is a little like walking. People have so many different walks; some slip, some fall, some strut, some glide, some sway, etc. The important thing is that poetry, like walking, provides a vehicle from which to move, and along the way view things from different perspectives. A pretty nice vehicle that is--one with lyrics and richness of sound, and free expression! Great poem! misce' |
