When my time comes this earth to part, ...and leave what we call life, Remember me not as a man, ...but as a man and wife, For what I was has ceased to be, ...the day I said I do, My life exists in partnership, ...a whole made up of two, At eighteen years I was a boy, ...who thought he was a man, I placed a ring upon her finger, ...and then my life began, Her working days and me the night, ...and still too little cash, For there was school and babies twice, ...no sleep and diaper rash, But graduation finally came, ...a job, we bought a house, Then came the twins, now children four, ...with Fairest Rose, my spouse, Looking back in retrospect, ...some times were kind of rough, But through it all I learned on thing, ...Fair Rose is mighty tough, Four children went to college, ...a doctor one became, One a teacher, one in business, ...and one became the same, As me a lawyer, I'm kind of proud, ...of what all four have done, Both the girls have up and married, ...life's getting to be fun, Three grandkids now I get to spoil, ...I really like the role, Of Grandpa Tim, with at my side, ...Fair Rose, my heart's extol, Thirty-six years ago we wed, ...it seems I'm getting older, But of one thing I am quite sure, ...because last night I told her, “Fair Rose, I love you, more than ever, ...and I shall dear wife, Until the day I leave this earth, ...you are my love, my life. Without you Rose, I would not be, ...for as one we now exist.” Then I took her in my arms, ...and as one we kissed. I do not know when I will die, ...I hope I never do, But hair is graying and bones now ache, ...this life we just pass through. And when I pass, I hope they etch, ...upon grave's monument, "A Husband and a Father Dear, ...We Have to Heaven Sent” And at my side, some day will lie, ...Fair Rose, my love, my life, The mother of my children, ...my being, my dear wife. |

I know I am sure smiling. How lucky you two are to have shared this type of bond. How lucky is this world that through that love, you've given the world four more wonderful human beings to demonstrate its power. |
