I could write
as if words are necessary
when skin will always be
the better speaker

It’s one of those weeks
when nothin’s doin’ me
but white tea with a little peach

The whole world seems hot for something

I’m most observant,
and mostly cool here
in the shade

I notice how cherries sizzle
on certain materials
They’re also the best ice
a gal could have in a glass

Far on, in the evening
I dance a little
with the Captain of tan-wine

He likes it when I lip-sync
slow tunes
because I sink in
to the songs

I can’t help that it has more to do with lips

I’m still ginger-wild
with a hint of bergamot

though I have learned to eat quite well
with chopsticks

I just love little bowls
They fit, perfectly, in the palm of my hand

the rest of life sort of hangs over

I have to decide
whether I like that or not

I take notes
in a lazy way

I’m allowed, Sesame

Says you? I’ll read
every fine-fingered line you offer

Sea~ Your words are gentle smiles for me, thank you hon.

Somy~ As always, you touch my heart with your sweet sister words. Yes, I know. I'll never forget our date. Even if we're 80, we'll still have what it takes to talk about it. Hehe. Got my eye on you, gurl.

James~ Fancy having you here, hon. Thanks for the drop by, do so more often.

Dixie~ Aww, I like being around you and watching you soar with your poetry.

D~ Laugh. Yes, hon. I'd love to take a wok with you. You'll have to hold my hand and tell me all your stories though.

Kit~ Same to ya, lovely. I see you've been away for a bit and I'm thrilled to have your spirit back around.

hugs to all.

Love,
reg

Reg,
It all starts in the mind. And from there the temperature rises. In this case to rippin' hot. That right there is a keeper. I probably enjoyed this one too much.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I have missed your mind and your words, m'friend.  How can you not write anything that we who know you, do not ever want to miss...

You know I read this great piece of writing and wondered actually how you and DS would do on a collaboration.  I simply just smiled at many of your lines again, and knew somewhere he would be smiling too had he read this.  Then ... I saw he commented and was glad he didn't miss this one.  You sultry lady you!  I have missed you and your great poetry, but love you in the discussion forums lady.

Larry~ Ya think? Why thanks. I try, darlin'. Too much? Did you hurt yourself? Need some ice? Thanks for your keeper reply.

Sunnyshine~ You are a light and a star to me in these pages. You are very precious to know and to embrace. Thank you, kindly for missing anything about me.

Topheth~ So nice to meet you, and thanks for  your art of kindness.

Sharon~ Aww, DS is a magical wordsmith: a gifted writer and a muse. I'm most honored to have him in my window. He can dance me with words a million miles away or up-close-like if he prefers. Sultry? Who me? Takes one to know one. Hey I'm happy to have you peekin' in discussion but save me from myself from time to time, would you? Hahaha.

RogueandPoet~ Thanks for the first time and all others. I'm always happy to know I have my enchantin' shoes on. Charmed to meet you.

So good it's scary!  I love the ephemeral mixed with eternal, and the touch of infernal.

Best, Jim
