The Bars or Books Tonight?

Talons of the night,
Clasp this appetite,
Fed by friendly solicitation,
A round, turns round, and round temptation,
The beauty of ascetic nox,
Fermented fog lies on the rocks,
A different breed of beauty, yes,
Through wits a thousand nights digress,
No.
Better yet to stay away,
Test one’s will another day.

"A witty saying prooves nothing" (Voltare)

Heh heh, there are enough tests in this world without self inflicting even more of them.  Maybe better off to hit the books, eh?

I enjoyed this write.

smile...since you seemed to like my quotables, here's another for ya that I used quite often in my college days:

"I spend half my life trying to get smart, and the other half trying to get stupid."

And they say I am not "balanced."

HA!

enjoyed the read.

Joe,

First, let me thank you for reading my poem, Hula Hoop and Tree.  Knowing that it was worth more than one reading made my day!  It also aroused my curiosity, as to what type of writer would read it so thoroughly.  So, here I am, and delighted to read your work!  Your style seems unique to me.  I like the way the mind seems to be toiling with itself, perfectly shown by awesome word choice.  I look forward to reading more of your work.  Meanwhile, WELCOME to PIPtalk!

(and just to note, I've read your poem several times, as well.  I like it!

I've not much to say except that I really liked this poem. It's a tough call.
