So you think I'm beautiful? There's something wrong with your eyes. If you could only see the pain, I know you'd tuck your head between your thighs and wish for a way to run. I don't show the real me so the spirit and the laughter are only on the surface, see, you don't see what comes after when I'm home alone. It's in my genes to remain uplifting and always dutiful, and I won't take you home with me to see I'm not so beautiful take what you can get for now, keep those rose-colored glasses on, but don't fool yourself too hard, because I'll soon enough be gone. |
