Writing Was My Only Link

Writing down my thoughts
Questions I need to ask
As feelings start to flow
My pen was given the task

Perhaps this will reach you
Maybe jog your memory
Every time I write to you
Always hopeful I tried to be

Could you understand why
The reasons that I write
Obviously I was hoping
You would shed some light

Communication is the key
Writing was my only link
I will know its worthwhile
If my words made you think

when I left for Kansas, I gave him a CD with all my poetry on it

who knows if he ever read any while I was gone

now I hardly write about him anymore at all...strange
