I’m Over You

I’m over you. I rarely cry.
My heart was broke, that’s not a lie.
I’m stronger now than I was then.
I seldom think of where I’ve been.
I don’t recall your sensual style;
the way your lips bent in a smile;
your curves, your touch, your kiss divine -
I almost never pay them mind.
I rarely ever think of how
you stole my breath and even now
forget the taste of dewy lips
and graceful feel of fingertips.
I can’t remember the last time
( November 6th at 8 or 9)
we were together, you and me.
I’m over you, dear, can’t you see?

I’m over you its been so long
since I last listened to our song.
You know the one from our first dance
that goes, “please give me one last chance.”
And speaking of that fated tune
reminds me of the night the moon
hung low and bright up in the sky
reflecting off your blue, blue eyes
as we made love, the radio
and we in sync, so soft and slow.
Forget that thought! I dare regress.
I always seem to find it best
to leave the past as past should be;
erasing thoughts of you and me.
So I go on, now, day by day
I’m over you -
but that was yesterday.
