Resplendent Dreams of Endless Love

Just beyond a languid afternoon
of tarnished hopes and broken promises,
as the sharp, blue-enamel sky
fades in crimson sunset
hung on velvet air
of crinet-clouds and amethyst,
(for one last, lingering moment
stolen from the vaults of time)
evening falls....
to a spectral moon rising
with enigmatic smile;
and soft, dark shadows singing
plaintive “lost-love” songs
to quick-silver roses,
quiver-dancing the night wind’s tune,
by the beat of a lonely heart
forever chasing elusive, resplendent
dreams
where endless love lives!
