Bad Times For Felix |

It’s spring, and all the cherry trees are blooming. It doe’s no good. Since the cops came and took his old man away. Damned old man anyway, always getting in trouble with the cops. Nothing can cheer Felix up. He walks around the street, with his head held down, his long hair covering his eyes. Nothing he can do for it. His old lady, she’s no help. All she does is spend her time yelling at him. Sometimes she’ll hit him. She doesn’t have any reason for doing that. He never says any thing to her. She doesn’t even bother fixing him anything to eat. All she does is lie around the house stuffing her own mouth with chocolate bars. Yeah, it’s bad. It’s even worse than usual. He wishes the cops would let his old man out of the jail. He’d make his old lady cook some food. Then at least, he’d have something to eat. Bobby |

First thought: it's about time that Felix stands tall and begins to realize his own worthiness. Passiveness will lead nowhere. Second thought: the cherry blossoms increase the overall sadness of this poem, because they are unseen by the main character. Third thought: if I was Felix at least I would procure my part of chocolate bars... Thank you for sharing. Love, Margherita |

Yo Margherita, Thanks for reading and commenting. Give the kid a chance. This is the very early Felix. He’s still at home, and hasn’t been taken into foster care yet. Felix will develop into a nasty, aggressive type guy, just give him a chance. We all start out like Felix, real sweet and non-aggressive. About those cherry trees, here in the hood the pink chock-cherry blossoms are all over the place. Bobby |

It must be a beautiful sight, Bobby, I miss my own cherry tree of my childhood. Yes of course I give little Felix a chance, it is a question of age also. The unhappiness of children who feel unloved is so unbearable, it hurts. And to know what they risk of becoming in the future makes it even worse. Only love can bring healing. Love, Margherita |

Margarita, Thanks for the great picture. Our cherry trees on the street have pink blossoms. I can't post pictures here, so just imagine your tree as redish pink. Bobby |

Margherita, There you go hon. That's the kind of cherry trees we have here. Thanks for posting them. Felix says thanks too. Love Bobby |

The 'Felix' saga should prove REALLY interesting!! [Robert, you are a grand addition to this 'P.I.P.- world' forum!] There is quite a fine mix of 'poetic styles' in here at the moment!..... |
