communication is never easy and talking about it turns it round till it confuses a heart leans sideways upsetting the order of life there are days when a woman wound in a riddle of desire desperate to be heard will paint on the wall of her cave gesso of tears sad forefinger rubbing at stone as if to speak what she would have to finger spell her longing she draws what is coming and going pushing pulling and what she desires two side by side under circle protection matte medium of words written almost … almost understood only to slip away in the thunder of hooves on a day of cave painting |

So much truth in your day of cave painting and this: "almost … almost understood " sums it up nicely and rightly. |

I love this, especially: ...almost understood only to slip away in the thunder of hooves. Please give me some background on the cave painting picture you posted with the poem. It is 5 years today since Flicka died. - Owl |

The Lady, This is okay. However, Standard English Language punctuation and capitalization would improve it. Bobby |

not using punctuation is a poetry style in its own right and I love it don't change a thing about this Kate, it's perfect! |

Thanks for the hugs. They were most welcome. Yes, it is a sad time. I am happy to see you too. Wow at the fact that you did the cave paintings! I would never have guessed that they were not original cave paintings. My guess had been that they were Spanish. I have saved the picture (hope that you don't mind) and will rename it to indicate that you painted it in the Navajo/Kate tradition. - Owl |

Kate~ What a lovely combining of talent~ The entry wall mural is lovely ... and the poetic word-lesson ... GORGEOUS~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

quote: This write is touching in its creativity and power! "The days of cave paintings" wonderful title, suggesting something primitive and a persisting problem since the beginnings of civilization, which you treated almost paradoxically in a highly evolved form of expression. Excellent and unique. A keeper. Love, Margheirta oh ... and I love the painting, revealing your multiple talents! |

My goodness, Lady Kate, is there no end to your creative talents! I read in a reply that you wrote, that you did the 'cave' painting yourself and that it is on a wall in your home. Your home is obviously a creative extension of your artistic self. This poem touches the woman in me ~ both past and present. I am in awe of your talent ~ or should I say, "talents". Love to you, Lady Kate! Linda |

Smiling here...I knew that your talent went far beyond more than your gift of pennings.....much further, indeed. Love the way you paint, Lady Kate. I've seen the paintings in the air |

Ah, you spelunker, you... I love going into caverns and caves and have spent several interesting hours on the "outside" of the real treat...you know, where they only let you go "so far" because you're a "ahem" tourist... and the glyphics...are remarkable. But your lines...of the internal emotional cave...are resounding. |
