Loves return! During dusk’s most plaintive song, when evening falls.... with the sting of alluring indifference, a relentless moon beats out the truth and pain of fleeting love, both cruel and unexplained!; and, as night succeeds the day, all hopes fail for wounded hearts in moments such as these, that even Time forgot.... shaken from the shattered glass of broken dreams; but, then at last...dawn’s chanticleer in staggering voice, sets the sunbeams spinning (through taffeta mists and trembling twilight) to weave a tapestry anew, of morning hopes for Love’s return! Reminded me of this one I wrote about 4 years ago I guess on here~~ In Quilted Cause Anchored to the feel of you, waging war inside this heart, I dream you in the myst of time, scrambling words that seam apart. The tapestry of silent still, an always love, that gathers white pieced in hand where stitches hold and carry warmth through dreams in night. Sewing still, with knotted ends controlling rich and complex, weaved. Ins and outs, the meshing feel the absence of, the preconceived. As you wish, the world goes on looking out the window, pained. Love beyond the reach of touch becomes the melody unchained. Through the looking glass, she stares seeing more than eyes need share. "Truth or Dare" behind the walls, silence reigns in quilted cause. Secondhanddreampoet, This is very nice. The only thing I would change is to put a strophe break at "But", and then make it simply "but". Bobby |

That the cycle of hopelessness and hope - and the distinction between the two - can illicit such beauty, is perhaps the reason for it all. - Owl |

Beautiful. I especially like "beats out the truth and pain of fleeting love, both cruel and unexplained!;" and "in staggering voice, sets the sunbeams spinning (through taffeta mists and trembling twilight) to weave a tapestry anew, of morning hopes for Love’s return!" |

To all the fine 'P.I.P.' poets who commented on this poem... thank you so much! If there is such a thing as a 'signature' piece or some semblance of a unique 'style' that one might aspire to reach....I suppose this 'write' comes as close as possible (to date) to whatever such elusive thing I may be chasing?! |

You truly do have the soul ~ and heart ~ of a poet. You also have the talent to eloquently express them, as well. Linda |

At dusk: "with the sting of alluring indifference" And then, "chanticleer" heralds a hopeful dawn: "(through taffeta mists and trembling twilight)" BRAVO! |
