We're raising us a darling daredevil,
She sure reminds me a lot like me.
If there's a beckoning tree to climb,
Then that is where she'll be.

She can dress up, and be so adorable,
But her choice is to wear jeans.
She's talented, smart, remarkable,
So completely full of beans!

Her hair shines with a hint of red,
It's just so beautifully long and thick.
But like me, she loves her baseball cap,
I just smile at her parents, then wink.

"Go for it" seems to be her motto,
"Carpe' Diem," has always been mine.
They're really one and the same I think?
So she's going to turn out just fine.

I maintain you can't be afraid to live
Or you will surely be afraid to die.
I just love her spunk and antics,
She's the apple of this Gramma's eye.

They sometimes say I am her influence,
Now what on earth could be wrong with that?
She's a girl who doesn't mind getting dirty,
Looks great in a dress, and a baseball hat!

p.s. Her Daddy created the picture of her on the rollercoaster

what a warm and a beautiful one. the true love

The picture scares my heart while the poem comfort it. I always love to read poems written from parents, or grandparents to children in which  the true feelings over flows to every one who read it. It is So warm. it stands as a solid love which makes me  want to hug it.
I shall make a coat out of it to wear in winter.

thank you for the sharing.
big hug to you and best wish to your family.
May God bless you all.

LOL, well since you said Todd created that roller coaster picture, I guess that means I have to cancel my flight - I was almost on my way out to go for a ride myself, rofl!

Loved this Sharon!

Best wishes,
/Kit

What a precious post! It appears as though the little apple did not fall far from the Granny Apple tree!

She is fortunate to have you as a role model!

Your son did a fabulous job putting that pic together! I certainly did a double take when I first looked at it! lol

Blessings of love to you and your wonderful family!

Linda

I felt it time to do one for their books, and when my son sent this picture in email to me I was SHOCKED!
After laughing when it was explained I remembered some of the similar things the two of us have done.  She was with me a lot since a baby so I guess you rub off on them, and I love her "spunk!"  They are both so different, aren't genetics interesting?  Thanks for reading.

NOTE PLEASE:  I sent this poem to my son Todd, and he just informed me he did NOT make that photo, I just assumed he had.  It was going around on the net, and he thought it looked like his oldest daughter, which it does.  I wanted to clarify that - and we don't know who made it.  He is good at making these photo things so I just assumed he had done it, as he does so many other nifty things and sends them along.  Goes to show you never assume

Thanks for reading about the girls they love reading your comments.

Such a joy to read this love filled poem, dear Sharon. Ok, I couldn't believe that picture, it really seemed too daring!

You are a wonderful grannie and you are no doubt a mutual inspiration to each other.

And you inspire me too!

Love and hugs.

I couldn't believe that picture either!  The child on the bike is the spitting image of one of our girls too. I think children are great inspirations to enjoy life and do the things we never did when we were young.  Thanks everyone, they love reading your notes.

So fast, so fast...they grow and run and leap...

and yet they are never too far away from Grandma's heartstrings...

Oh mercy!  This will teach you to never acknowledge a proud Gramma!  Thanks everyone, they definitely are both unique but both loved the same.  They can't lose with great parents like they have.

I can not even begin to express how charmed I am by your lovely grand daughters and by your poem.  You made me feel all warm inside and I have a huge smile on my face.

This is the perfect way to start my Sunday morning.  Thank you.
