I’m Sorry My life.. As you know, came from you You nurtured me within you With all the hopes and dreams Any mother could wish for I was born into your world Destined to be your companion I was a female and your first born Your best friend, when I grew older Your shoulder to cry on, when you needed me.. You cared for me Fought for me Gave you life to me Like no other mother would It was your dream, to be my example To be my guide and my companion Then I grew up My heart was broken, by a first love Nothing could be done to protect me My fall took me away from you Made me rebellious Loosing all dreams and hopes I got lost in my own pain Disappearing from your world I am so sorry Mom I should have been there To hold your hand, to comfort you! I hurt you deeply, but I was young Too you young to realize you needed my hand I’m sorry Mom For letting you down For not being the daughter you expected me to be….. I’m sorry Mom… Jen--->MindBodySoul |

very 'real'; heart-felt; and grandly emotive and most effective! [I am an 'iron fist in a velvet glove'...writing 'social impact/conscious' poetry (on a 'philosophical' level) on one hand ....and, 'unabashed/incurable 'Romanticism' on the other hand...but, I truly, dearly wish I could 'write my life' (Realism) like this fine poet so adeptly does!] MUCH applause!! one tiny point, if I may?....perhaps the color choice for the lettering detracts somewhat from the 'power' of this write?.... |

i feel your loss. i too have walked in your shoes - but I was lucky enough to realize my errors in time... i have written my mother a poem, telling her I was sorry for my errors, and asking her to guide me in the right direction. I wrote it to her when I was in prison... I am home now, and even though she is disabled - I enjoy her smile... the one that she hid from me in my time away. from her, from life i am gratefully clean and sober. and I did before her time on earth ended. peace lynn |

I can never resist reading a poem dedicated to a Mother. "I'm sorry Mom" and "forgive me" are those words that I launch to heaven daily. You express this love, this pain, this awareness very well. It's a bond that maintains its beauty and depth beyond time and space. And so we can go on to connect forever, in love. It's always the right moment. Thank you for this beautiful sensitive poem. Love, Margherita |
