Judgment Day

I don’t believe in God
and I don’t believe in luck,
it is lucky God has made me
find the truth about his book.
He wrote so many versions
that I cannot read them all,
so it’s easier if your realize
that there is no God at all.

Others have their ‘One True God’
to see them through their day,
while others win the Lottery
as ‘Good Luck’ comes their way.
But me, I‘ll stand on my own feet
and always earn my pay,
for I know I’m never lucky
with no God to guide my way.

I could kid myself in thinking
that my God was by my side,
and then from the facts of living
I would find somewhere to hide.
It may bring a nice warm comfort
to the lining of my soul,
but without my own direction
would I really live life whole.

There’s a place that they call Heaven.
There’s a place that they call Hell.
There are devils and some demons,
there are even gods as well.
But the gods are also demons
and they roam about our land,
so I don’t trust luck to devils
and I make my own true stand.

When I’m old, and tired, and knackered
then I just might change my mind.
At the point that I am dying
it is then that I may find,
that the God who walked beside me
was the one who saw me through,
but till then I trust the Judgment
that was born in me and you!

Ivor G Davies.

The moment created this second, is a  moment that's going to last.
It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past.

Are you a musician as well?

I ask because this is so lyrical and could easily be a song in perfect four quarter time.

"There’s a place that they call Heaven.
There’s a place that they call Hell.
There are devils and some demons,
there are even gods as well.
But the gods are also demons"

Only a person who believes in ONE, could write such.

I am very impressed--and I love your boldness. Kudos!

*laughing*

shaking my head too

I praise you for boldness and you answer with evasion.

Okay.

We'll just say you play Devil's Advocate.

An interesting instrument, nevertheless.

The more I post, the more you'll see that you can read me like a book.  Most of my poetry (except the silly stuff) deals with my very nature!

I only strum guitar...very badly!
mind you  I try (and own or owned)
cornet
banjo
mouth organ
piano
penny whistle
paper and comb

none with much sucess

I do tend to play on peoples minds though (or so I'm told!)

thank you Ivor

I tend to play with people's mind
sometimes I get a bit behind
and it's my fault that I am cursed:
I tend to think things out reversed!

Much enjoyed, m'friend.
