Sally’s hands are all wrinkled up, from washing dishes all the time. At thirteen, she has housemaid’s knees from all the floors she’s scrubbed. When you’re thirteen, it’s hard to work for people who are no relation. She knows no one cares about her here. They’re only interested in the work she does, and the money they get from the state for supposedly taking care of her. Now, everyday, her body is changing fast. She doesn’t understand why it’s doing that. The man of the house notices, and spends time taking quick glances of her as she works. She doesn’t like the strange look in the man’s eyes. No one has ever looked at her like that before. She wishes she could get out of this place. She decides to have a talk with Felix. Perhaps they can get out of here together. Bobby |

Sunshine, Thank you for the very kind words. Charles Dickens is one of my favorite writers. When I read him as a young person, his books always inspired me. He was the first major writer I ever read. He knew what he was talking about. Bobby |
