Bereft of Hope and Reason On this night of drifting stars and cosmic thunder, (past dark-dream shadows cast by the moon’s indifference) I walk alone and lost... in memories echoing down vacant streets of empty promises, where love once lived, and left... a time-twisted heart weeping, and a once fine mind and spirit bereft of all hope and reason! |

I think we've all been there at one time or another my friend...and, eventually, most of us woke up and saw the stars beckoning from behind the moon again... j. |

If it weren't for low times like this, we wouldn't enjoy the high times near as much. Know that they will be coming! ~ They ALWAYS do! ~ In divine time, dear poet. Bruce, you truly do have an extraordinary gift of poetic expression. Your sensitivity makes for fine poetry. You feel deeply and you are adept at conveying your thoughts and emotions. Linda |

I was thinking that a wise man knows when to let go of hope and to take hold of reason...or the truth...James |

Again, the pain of loss captured fully and well. Reminds me a little of Thomas Wolfe. ("Oh Lost") I especially like "drifting stars and cosmic thunder, (past dark-dream shadows" and "in memories echoing down vacant streets of empty promises, where love once lived, and left... " |
