These cool Spring evenings hurt me.
April always leaves me in solitude.
I see well wishers and wishing wells,
but this raw emotion cannot be viewed.

And cool Spring mornings, before the light,
make me want answers I may not find,
I have travelled this road so many times,
to reach the place I've left behind,
to know the truth and reason why
waiting somewhere in my mind.

As I get older, I grow
to be weary of these days,
but I know I am still beautiful
in so many other ways
even if I never know
why Aprils leave me sad,
maybe I'll accept truth and love
just aren't meant to be had.

while reading I can't help ponder, asking myself, "Am I dead inside" That I have no desire whatsoever to be with someone...and to yet, marvel in the glory of the visuals you express...is it not treadition, to want to share these things with someone?  But, I wallow in the solitude of my own oneness with nature...is that selfish?

Anyway, EXCELLENT Writing, very touching and yeah, know what you mean.

powerful 'write'!

[T.S. Eliot said, of course....something
like "April is the cruelest month..breeding
lilacs out of the dead ground..."]

April-spring-new beginings.. If only that were true, that every april there was a new begining for us... but it is just a reminder that we are growing gracefully old!  And sharing is what we all want, but I find it better at times to be alone... and there is nothing selfish about that... becoming one with nature to find our center...

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful write!
I felt it, with you..

Yes...still beautiful.
And from this sadness you find (and share) more beauty still.

I think secondhanddreampoet and I must be on the same page... *S* for your words do bring T.S. Eliot to mind:
"April is the cruelest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain."

Maybe it's as simple as seeing new beginnings everywhere... when we're stuck in our dull rut, drained of color and hope... Of course... autumn sees my spirits falling faster than the leaves. *G*

Whatever the cause... know you're not alone. *S* Excellent write!!!

This one breathes an air of desolation, lost hope.  It's so sad.  Well-written.

Beautiful, Dixie - just like you.

April is a sad month for me too, yet here it is Autumn, not Spring.

My friend.  In all honesty I believe there is something about April's wonderful Spring days that make Everyone a trifle sad and lonely no matter the state of their heart and soul.

April days put in many of us wistfulness, longing, the feel of a searching emptiness.

This is the force of nature. All life in the northern hemisphere is affected by it's call in April. It's the ultimate pherenome. That wistful, longing empty searching feeling floods us with a saddness, an almost overwhelming urge to be 'together'.

The call to mate.

So you're in good company my friend...maybe yours feelings are a little stronger than some because you kinda feel empty anyway, but you've lots and lots of company in April from everything living...

So hang in there...we're all holding hands this month!!!

This piece was one of you best by  the way and I place it at  the top of the list of your best ... for now.

my heart...

jimmy

I think that is the hardest part for me, is knowing the answers I want, not only will I never find them, I don't think they exsist...
