Innocence Lost in a world so corrupt No longer able to enjoy their youth Exposed to the harshness of reality Why, must they endure such a future? Our children shouldn’t suffer Their innocent look Their heart so open to goodness How can I teach them? That life isn’t always that easy My heart fills with sorrow Just with the knowledge Of this corrupted world I sit here Visualizing their eyes As they look up at me for advise Their eyes so pure Filled with love for me Needing me Taking every breath I take I close my eyes To feel their tender touch A touch that could never be replaced I close my eyes To see their faces as they say “I love you Mommy” It fills me up inside And for that fraction of a moment All fears go away My pain disappears A new light of hope Shines upon me Innocence Looks up at me To show me a brighter day Jen--->MindBodySoul |

Very heartfelt and poignant poem. You express here what worries so many parents. Still, awakening to Love is taking place all over the world. Now that we are at such a low point, I think we can't go any further downwards. Love and peace will happen, because deep within all souls maintain their innocence. Love, Margherita |
