          An April evening
             in the year '01
          a casual message
             meant just for fun

          to let you know
             in a birthday way
          I'd just celebrated
             the eighteenth day.

          I recall the moment
             and your surprise
          I wish you could
             have seen my eyes

          they would have shown
             what was amaze
          finding that we were
             matched in moon phase.

          It fused a bond
             between us then
          that will surely last
             until who knows when

          and so I say
             that with each year
          let's vow to keep
             this friendship dear!

           Happy Birthday
           for the two of us!
