Invisible To Me

today I noticed something
and for the first time
after all these many years
that you have been here
it was always there in front of me
but I had never really seen it
for before I had looked for
something in your face
something that I wanted
that was not to be
but today I found something
softer and more comfortable
something that had been hidden
so invisible to me
today I found a friend
