The Dance of the Fae At Winter’s edge, where the ice grows thin, Spring begins its silent advance; It’s myriad armies marching forth to begin Eternal Summer’s green-golden dance. But Winter Queen Mab, in her tower of ice, Has decided to make one last stand; Calling forth from her dominion of Air and Darkness Her own frozen armies to keep hold on the land. As Summer Queen Titania nears on her golden steed, To reclaim the season that is her right, The frozen armies of Winter stand, all thought and deed, Upon keeping the Earth in never ending Night. So, the contest begins, between the Queens of the Fae, And we mere mortals are left victims of the plight, For the season is upon us to suffer the heated days, And shiver in our chilly beds during the nights. The Dance will end as it always does, And Queen Titania will rule for a time; Then the seasons will change into Fall’s ebbing throes, And the Fae will once again engage their dance divine. Dear friends, a little something different (but appropriate for those in the South right now!).I have just finished reading Jim Butcher's "Summer Knight", the fourth of "The Dresden Files" series of books, and so this was kinda inspired....... Enjoy!!! ~you reached inside, you touched my heart, and I am all the better for it~ Terry A. Woodson, Jr. |
