. It never was A happy house To begin with For all the noise Those numerous cars Parked along the fenced in yard The windows always seemed To mutely brood on what they knew Trees still cast shadows On the lawn The street yet more A lane inside a cave And now no young girl Comes running out the door anymore Holding her coat closed against the cold Dim moonlight in her hair Or lips to lips in merged embrace Holds the love that is her fragile heart By the frame garage . |

John, for some unknown reason I feel your poetry is wasted on us when it should be in print. You are a voice one hears at readings especially in April. When I read your poetry I wonder why with all the meanings of yes, well, and of course |

I'm glad it's "in print" here - though I do agree in essence with Sunshine. If it was anyplace but here, I may not have see it, nor would I have been moved by it as I am... very well written/expressed, my friend. j. |

agree with above. Your poem made me pity myself deeply...heaven does not give me the gift. But I am very glad that I have the chance to read yours. |

There is a film called "Scent of Green Papaya", which is my favorite...almost completely done without speaking, using music... Your poetry makes me feel the same way as this film; like holding my breath. |

Thank you all And Sunshine you're wrong The stuff I write is not in fashion and frankly I don't care. If a few here find something in them that is enough as both a surprise and a pleasure. Thanks again John |
