Land of Perpetual Night [On the ‘Runaway American Dream’ (part III)] Winter retreats along its lonely ways through the tangled maze of human discontent, in this land of minds infinitesimally small, I must wonder where all fine dreams went?! Here in this dry place, this empty space, I stand alone as reason’s last sentinel in perpetual war with the loss of all hope desperate to believe in something beyond this hollow shell of life; speech without sound, sound without motion, silent screams of doubt... I see spires reaching for the stars to grasp only air... and, I am left with the endless stillness of my soul’s perpetual night! |

..."and, I am left with the endless stillness of my soul’s perpetual night!" ~ A gripping closing to an exceptional write! I felt your words to my very core. Linda |
