I feel your ache tonight, though I don't want to feel it, those places deep inside the fibers of existence where the faces and the memories rub raw the veneer you pat in place and polish every morning; this is a night, one of those nights when to touch you is to touch me, those special nights strong enough to burst through my sedation, when no doubts distort my feelings, my senses reel full in my understanding of your thoughts as they torment you keep you from much needed sleep and drag you from the edge of the oblivion we each in our own ways crave; I don't mind, though it makes me sad to hold your pain, the undeniable the reality eating at your life, to feel the echo of the hollow that grows inside your soul, and I grieve each day the bitter truth; I let you slip away willful and headstrong, letting free the bold of you to hold no regrets of you knowing at times will come this bill to pay. ©2007 by icebox . Truly a most touching write, icebox. "When the music stops" ... yes, and it always does at Heartbreak Inn. |

Icebox This is good, though, if I understand the ending correctly, hard. It's a burden being just someone else in another's life knowing you'll never measure up. Again good John |
