. Spring The lawns are green again Soon the trees will leaf In lakes and rivers The winter’s water is crystal clear As it ripples somehow merrily Beneath a pale blue sky Boys and girls Are riding bicycles One hears the song of cardinals Parks and gardens Are being prepared to bloom And yet that heart For all these scenes Seems intent to only focus on An absence in the view Come my friend We’ve lived together long enough I know what this silence means . |
