Mornings glow upon your face, soft warm arms, holding me, cuddled under sheets of warmth, this, the highlight of my day. If only the day was ours, remaining under our tent, laughing, sharing thoughts, quality of time well spent. We would laugh, and flirt, you would do something funny, then I would giggle, you giggle, laughter becomes contagious. I dream of those moments, moments I hold dear, treasures, memories, that make me smile, that was life, I was living it. Funny how you don't realize, the moment, how special, until it is removed, gone, your eyes become opened. Simple, little things, words, conversations, joys in everyday life, you know what I mean. It was like a great fire, coming, it roared, greatly, comsumed us both, lovestruck, swallowed whole, to one soul. Ashes came, fire became a flame, a flicker, never going out, and I remain full of heart, love yet to spend. Where are you? this has no end, I have lost me, I have lost you, I have lost my best friend, I have lost life. So all that is left, is, perhaps a Dream. J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.” |

Once again, I would have to classify this ending (which I particularly admire) as ‘every-person’ dejavu...that dances along the ‘immortal plane'....because it is likely that which we all feel/experience eventually (some of us all too often!): “Where are you? this has no end, I have lost me, I have lost you, I have lost my best friend, I have lost life. So all that is left, is, perhaps a Dream.” (within a dream?!) |
