prelogy sunset yellows all suburban roofs but misses half the town; it’s dark already, down where the canyons have windows in them. no one looks up anyway; there’s husbandry in heaven after all. city yellow comes later, when it’s dark here. we shine it down where our true interest lies; our yellow never reaches to the roofs. darkness seeps down from them, until it spoils the scene. call it eulogy; we poets always write our own, but never, never on the stone. |

Be sure you pick up Huan Yi's Eulogy...it's inspired by that one, and by his other poem, 4017 Massachusetts. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Ed...it's great how one poet can inspire another. If I said, I dig this poem, would you think me out of date? Some words just hit the cord of "wow"...this is one of them. |

I particularly liked the ending!: "call it eulogy; we poets always write our own, but never, never on the stone." |

Wow. A real picture. One of those crisp bites that surely exist in more than ink. A note: line 5 is a wee bit weak, a bit predictable. |

This is very good the imagery I constructed with-in tells me how beautiful you write. If we learn to live life as wisdom, we find enlightenment. |

I think this is one of my favorites from you Ed-- eulogies are tricky things in themselves a prelogy can get ya committed! Excellent work with this. I wish I knew how to write more academically pleasing. *sigh* |

city yellow comes later, when it’s dark here. we shine it down where our true interest lies; our yellow never reaches to the roofs. darkness seeps down from them, until it spoils the scene. A poet's life should be easier... and filled with encouragement. But then... we'd probably miss out on some of the best words ever written. *S* This is fantastic... every time I read it, I love it more... Your yellow reaches, my friend... beyond the roofs, across the world. *S* Thank you for being a poet! *S* |
