Lately you've been changing,
On the inside and out.
I doubt you know it,
But I can definitely see it.
You're always doing something else
And ditching me to hang with your other friends.
I want to know what is happening to you;
But every time I try to ask,
You tell me not to worry.
Why shouldn't I worry
When I don't know what you're doing.
I never see you anymore,
And maybe that's how it should be;
Especially if all you want to do is drink and smoke.
You never call me anymore
Even though you promised to.
You really think you have it bad
But maybe that's because you're not opening your eyes
Or even your heart.
You do not realize then
How many people are worried about you
How many care about you.
When will this stop?
When will you finally open your eyes
And see all the pain and suffering you're causing?
Or will you be lost forever?
And no matter how hard I've tried
I don't seem to be able to get through to you.

I think you have said what is on your mind very well and very clearly. Your questions are some that I have had to ask before too -- and it is hard (or was for me). I like your writing -- and if this is a current situation, I wish you lots of luck.

for whatever reason

sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad

and all we can really do is just love them no matter what

Thanks to the both of you. It is a current situation and really it's just starting out. I'm gonna try my best to help my friend out. I wish all those who have the same situation on their hands good luck.
