The boy stayed home born in Berlin with highrises on one side dirt heaps war echoes on the other man and wife separated first love gone bad that wanted guarantees he wanted love divorce meant parental judgement for the day would talk in whispers it seemed they all looked when he travelled with a new love second after first after the war love was supposed to stick balance out but there were winds of change currents of separation recombination As the man become a boy again stayed home curled on blanketed springy cot bounced played the trumpet dreamed of another love take to the other side away from the postwar heap and to worship slabs of concrete replacing row upon row of the railed tenament in an eastern land... the second was better first wanted guarantees. |

Martin, you bring to this mind all of the could be's, should be's would have beens in all decades, and not just particular times. This is a resounding write, if only people would read, and listen, and realize... and grow. ![]() Thank you. |

Inspired by Born in 1945, an East German film shot in the sixties, I do my best in relating the immemorial, but don't deserve the complements! One isn't a nothing, if at the first time you don't succeed.. Karilea, unfortunately we live in a world of live fast, read minimally and now with the PC we can forget about diction and syntax..but you and I will do our best inform younger members with our insight, right? ![]() |
