Midnight settles memory like a woolen blanket on a day of exhaustion but it’s summer here in Africa and the heat oppressive, feared causes and results in a sorrowful push-back of the beautiful. Naked so and vulnerable common sense opens arms to the unrealistic and breathes in motion to the awesome beat of feel. But the night, the night of memory escapes into daylight sooner, sooner, than the heart locked and forestalled on the edge of wanting more. Memory and soul and a dreamer always knows the beautiful stands in wait for the door of consciousness to open wide and usher in what we have always known. Helen / 6 March 2007 |

The way you described summer in Africa...a perfect backdrop. Something exotic in this tapestry of good memories. Enjoyed reading you. TD |

Helen The layers of this, displayed and splayed forth in mind alone were fantastic. Thank you for the eye opener. ![]() |

Hi Helen It's been summer here in California too, although winter still, it's dry and warm and at night with my bedroom window open, I can here the coyote. Your poetry always touches me. ![]() |
