Kleenex held tightly up to my nose Hot toddy in my hand Brandy, lemon juice and some honey Make this cold Almost bearable to stand A runny nose now raw and pink And a sore throat that makes me hoarse Nothing else has made me feel better I guess colds simply have to run Their course So, I’ll stir up another toddy Add a bit more brandy to the mix I have been informed with great authority That there is little that a toddy can not fix So bring on this season of colds and flu Just let them try to give me the run-around I don’t fear the likes of germs like them With brandy warmed in my cup … Think I’ll choke another toddy down aziza [This message has been edited by aziza (03-03-2007 03:06 PM).] |

sorry to hear you are feeling poorly...but you might just want to hold off on some of those toddies to remain lucid ...here's wishing you well...and of course, good write. |

I can still read the words, so you are not too badly todded out yet my friend, hope your cold decides to disappear or at least run from your cure. Hope you are well soon, take care. Rick |

I've tried the hot toddy that aziza writes of I've tried all the lozengers, cough syrups too. I've tried paracetamol, aspirin and sinex. but the cold that I've got now I'm certain is flu. For all of my senses are dull and so hazy my sinus's blocked and my head throbbing too. I've carried this cold for near three weeks to date now and I'm at a loss as to what I must do. I'm sorry aziza that you feel so rotten my sympathies sure are directed to you But where in God's world did you get inspiration when suffering badly, like me, with the flu? Yes, unfortunately. Did you notice the 'Teddy O'Neil' rhythm to my reply, I can't get the damn song out of my head now. Aziza, can you make me up a hot toddy please.... Ivor |

I believe whole heartedly in the "toddy". Perhaps we shouldn't only have them when we're sick but somehow they're only reserved for that occasion. Got to have some fun out of the dreaded influenza! Enjoyed the read. |

I didn't know for years, that I make horrible toddy's. (I made them for m'self, and well, y'can't taste a thing in that state.) Then one day, I just had a chill, and a friend who is the bartending type made me the loveliest brew of cinnamon and oh I wish I could remember what else. I'd move up North. Enjoyed. |

Kerchew! (passing you some soft tissues ... hoping you are well ... soon!) Even though you are feeling poorly you still served up a delightful read here, very entertaining. "Toddy" Cheers! always seeking joy, adventure and romance and wishing you find the same |
